Customer Reviews

Nice new design, so much easier to carry around, just be careful with it!

The new slim PStwo is just fantastic! incredibly small and quite! make a very pleasant gaming experience!!

To the reviewer who said "...miniPS2 has some problems":
1)the new lid is so much better, because of easy access and also reduced possible mechanical failure. Feels like its back to the era of PS1. and alot of electronics has this design, most commonly, your cd player. Who would wanna carry a cd player with bulky mechanical doors just to protect the len? just dont play your PStwo in the desert everything will be fine.

2)Have to agree with the heat problem, although its not because of the power adapter but the lack of fan.(the power adapter is actually out of the console now to reduce size and some heat) the new slim has no fan which greatly reduced the size and noise level. Get a stand if you really dont like your console getting hot, and dont put it on carpet.

3)This is silly, is more fragile? its not made for you to drop like a Panasonic Toughbook. Unless you're really really clumsy like that, or trying to "abuse" your game console for some reason...

anyway, great redesign with reduced SIZE and NOISE + convenient flip top + integreted network jack and IR. Heat level increased, just have to be careful with it, dont play like 20 hours a day. Cheap lowcost modchip can burn the lens, not recommended on the new slim!

Ps2 Review

Although I have very few games for this system, I can still easily appreciate how great it is. Not being familiar with XBox or GameCube graphics, I cannot really compare them with those of the PS2, but I have to say, the PS2 graphics look much less blocky and grainy than those on my old PS1.But the graphics are starting to get outdated.
I have had my PlayStation 2 for approximately a year, and have experienced no problems thus far. My system has no problem reading DVDs or blue-backed discs, and each of my 7 or 8 games still load without any trouble at all.
I am somewhat of a music buff, so it is nice to be able to play CDs on my PS2, but my TV has really crappy speakers, so I don't do that very often.
The PS2 has a very wide variety of games, as I am well aware of every time I visit my neighborhood GameStop. Being a gamer who appreciates everything from Tony Hawk to Katamari Damacy, I guess this system is for me. I can also play PS1 games on it, and this backwards compatibility means this system has an even larger library of games. If you want a free xbox 360 go to this site. giftfiesta.com/?rid=697528

Did you know that the Mini PS2 has some problems?

I bought a mini PS2 and was fashioned with it, it looked amazingly it was fantastic, until with a friend we realized the most interesting lie of our lifes, we discovered that this new PS2 has a lot of problems that the old PS2 block will never have. I traded 1 week after that the new Mini PS2 for an old Block PS2 with a hardly very difficult problem, cause they didnt want to get it.

The Mini PS2 has a lot of problems, first the lector lens is more at the open air, you can see if when you open the top part of the PS2, while the Big Block PS2 lector lens wont be seen, unless you open it. This makes the lens more weaker and it can get dirty more easily than the big PS2 lens.

Second the power source for the Mini PS2 is attached just next to it, while you are playing over an hour long the PS2 will overheat more than normal and it can get damage for that, even the lens can get overheated. Instead the old Big PS2 had a separate power source, so that it wont overheat the PS2 nor the lens.

Thrid the new Mini PS2 is more fragile, so if you drop it, it will break even if you drop it to the ground from 1 feet above the ground it can break or get damage. Instead the old block PS2 can resist all hard handles... so you just care it and mess with it.

To be honest, I prefer my new Old Big Block PS2. I been rude to that and it wont let me down, so if you need to choose, pick up the Big Block PS2. ITS WAY BETTER!
