Product Description

This memory card stores characters, special weapons, saved levels, high scores, or custom controller settings in a durable, compact design. This portable memory card allows you to suspend game progress, and share game items with a friend's console. The unit is compatible with PlayStation, PS One, and PlayStation2 consoles. Also, it works with PlayStation-format software only.

Customer Reviews

Not guaranteed to be Sony brand!!!

WARNING if you order this! It is NOT guaranteed to be Sony brand, despite the picture and the reviews! I ordered from this exact page, even clicked here from my 'items you ordered' list, but the card I got is most definitely NOT Sony brand. It is a very off-brand 'compatible' card.

The page is VERY misleading, and I'm considering returning it. I at least wanted to make it clear to anyone who wants to order this that if you want a name brand Sony card, be very careful.

Don't be fooled by the wannabe brands. Stick with Sony!

If you already own a Playstation game console and want to store some memory for your PSOne games, then this is the #1 card for you to own! Why? It's made by the company who made the system themselves, Sony! You also get 15 blocks of memory which may not sound like much, but believe me people, surprisingly it IS!! There's even different colors of the 15-bit Sony memory card you can choose from (e.g. Crimson Red, Island Blue, & Emerald etc.) or you can stick with the original white/gray design. In addition, this card is compatible with the PSX, PSOne & PS2 systems! Best of all, the product is 100% accurate, therefore meaning that you will never EVER lose any saved games or data unless YOU decide to delete it yourself.

Also, I've heard numerous stories from different reviewers online here and even from some friends, that any other card from a different brand (Can anyone say InterAct?) can sometimes prove to be defective, causing you to lose certain data that you worked hard to earn. (Which can REALLY be a pain in the a**!) I have a PSX and PS2 memory card that I have used for over four years now, and not ONCE have either failed me. Lately, I've been searching for some Sony brands at some reasonable prices here at Amazon, but unfortunately a lot of these sellers are giving out the third class and other similar kinds. Whatever you do, do NOT trust any other brand other than Sony, unless you want to risk the damn thing screwing up on you! Even if you have to buy it used, DO IT! I guarantee you won't be sorry! :)

Ripping Off the Customer.

Memory cards are evil. If the video game companies really cared about the consumer, they would include a whole pack of memory card with the game system when you purchase it. Instead, they sell these things separate and if you want to save any progress on any games you play, you have to have one. Also, PS2 memory cards won't save info from PS1 games, so you have to buy cards for both systems in order to play all games. Back in the day, before the modern gaming era, the game cartridges used to save what little progress there was to be saved. Of course that was when it took between 30 minutes and 4 hours to beat a game. Of course, they could still make games like that, even with all the mulit-player, action packed graphics. They just don't. Anyway, if you have any PS1 games, you need one of these babies. My advice, find a pack of them at a local discount store or used from a seller here at Amazon.
