Works great until........rechargeable battery dies
This was a great item when purchased in 2004 for my first child. The clarity and reception was great however, the rechargeable battery is no longer recharging. I tried calling Sony only to be told that the replacement battery has been discontinued and I cannot get another one through them. I have been unable to find a compatable replacement battery at Circuit City, Best Buy, or Radio Shack. Sony told me that "You will just need to buy another monitor". Poor customer service! So, buyer beware!
Superb product!!
This is one of my favorite and most useful baby items that I have. It has crystal clear sound, even when used in a larger house and on different floors. Very little static, if any. Very worth the money when you need to hear your little one from a different room! The only thing I wish it had was a walkie-talkie function but otherwise it is perfect. Still five stars!!
Not all that it's cracked up to be.....
We bought this item trustin Sony, but to our surprise we are very disappointed. When we take it to my parents house it does not work. It beeps constantly like it is out of range...even if you are in the next room. Also it only works on batteries. For some reason the receiver end goes off automatically when it has the cord plugged in to it. This has happened in the middle of the night when it was fine when we went to bed. It just shut off. Thank goodness I have good ears, I barely heard our daughter when she woke up. If I could return this item, I would. Our dughter is only 19 mos old so it should still be working.
