Average performance
If you are looking for a simple and cheap way to create a wireless home network this product will do the trick. Don't expect anything special. The manual is not detailed and the set up utility is inadequate. This product is purportedly designed to work in both G-only mode and in a mixed G/B mode. However, I couldn't fugure out how to turn the G-only mode. Also, when setting up your network, make sure your router is set to mixed B/G mode. Otherwise your WPC54G WILL NOT WORK (I trying setting up my router to work in G-only mode and the adapter would talk to the router). Also, this adapter's radio transceiver is not very powerfull, you will get better profirmance with other adapters. Overall, thought this is good value for the money
Easy to install with Window XP SP2 but....
Bought the product and installed with ease. Signal pickup in one room on the 2nd floor on the opposite side of the Linksys router (on 1st floor) is non-existence even though my wife's built-in wireless laptop which was recently bought and my work laptop, also with built-in wireless, can easily locate the network signal. Other than that I can surf ALMOST any place in the house.
