I have, however, built a couple of Class A tube amps, so my ears have appreciation for the finer sounds in life, and this little amp met and wildly exceeded my wildest expectations. So I figured it's only $25, why not try it? Well, this little thing is absolutely amazing. I just spent the past hour listening to it on my Cambridge Soundworks outdoor speakers and they have never sounded so good. I typically run them off a Denon 2805 receiver, but this amp sounds so much better. There is a real 'presence' to the music. The power output was more than enough to provide good clean volume outside, even when using the AA batteries. And despite some other comments, I found the sound to be very clean even when using the headphone output of my MP3 player or a portable CD.
