ND671 Motorola phone I purchased this 5.8 GHz phone to try and eliminate a problem casued by a 2.4 GHz phone, which was interfering with a wireless computer network link in a study. The new phone did not solve the problem; a call to Motorola indcated that there was a 2.4 connection between the handset and the base; there was nothing in the description of the phone on your website that indicated this fact. I like the phone better thatn the one it replaced, but I am unhappy because my original problem has not yet been resolved.
Best 5.8 GHZ for the money! This is a fantastic phone with lots of features and is quite a bargain after rebate! The hands-free speaker phone on the base is crystal clear - according to callers. It has a voice mail light, another unexpected but excellent feature. No more checking my voice mail every half hour, when there's a message, there's a flashing blue light on the handset and a solid red light on the base. I wanted a cordless with lots of features, without an answering machine - not easy to find! I went to all my local electronics stores and searched on-line and couldn't find another phone with this many features at this low a price. Highly recommended!
Superb quality from Motorola I have gone through two cordless speakerphones with extension handset capability in the past two years--both from VTech--and was quite unhappy with each because they were uncomfortable to hold, had short battery life, and quickly died for no apparent reason. (I know, I shouldn't have bought the second one.) This time, I looked around quite a bit before settling on the Motorola. What a difference! The phone appears to have similar circuitry to that found in the VTech models, but the product quality is far superior. The handset is very comfortable to hold, clips easily to your built or fits nicely in your pocket, has all the features you could want (including an electronic phonebook), and seems to be extremely solid. Additionally, I have yet to run the battery down to low, no matter how much I use the phone or leave it off the base. Motorola seems to have learned a lot from the company's vast experience in cellular telephone design and production, with a real pay-off for cordless phone consumers. Highly recommended!
PS One of the other reviewers notes that no matter how often he or she sets the handset time, it shifts three hours. I initially had this problem, and when I contacted Motorola, I learned that it was a result of the time signal sent out by my phone company (they were sening out the EST zone signal but I leave in the PST zone). I contacted my phone company (Vonage) to correct the problem, and it has not recuured since. |
