This is the second dash mount that I've bought - I've used the first for a year now and got this one for my father-in-law. I told him it was an essential item for his new Magellan unit, since the windshield mount the unit comes with is tough to mount and tough to unmount, and comes unstuck at inopportune moments, or refuses to come unstuck when you want it to. With the dash mount, it's easy and fast to take the unit off the dash when parking and place it on the floor out of sight. Also makes it convenient to move the unit from one car to another.
