Absolutely perfect!!!

This is the best game for Gamecube to date and probably one of the best games ever made. Play it to believe.

Best Game To Date for the GC

Right as I was losing faith in the Gamecube, I was delightfully surprised by Resident Evil 4.

GRAPHICS 10/10

The graphics in this game were astounding. The Gamecube isn't exactly a graphics powerhouse, but Resident Evil 4 pushed it to its breaking point and did a great job. Every action is smooth and defined, whether Leon is crashing through a window, jumping over a fence, dodging enemies, or simply reloading his gun.

SOUND 10/10

The background music was subtle, but effective. It fit the game and got you into the mood. The voice acting was very well done. It was great to not have to mute the TV when a particular character's voice came screeching through the speakers, and instead get thrown into the action. In Resident Evil 4, you are faced with enemies called Ganados, which are the game's zombies, and they make pretty cool sounds. Instead of grunts and moans, they make cries to alert others to your location.

STORY 10/10

The story was pretty much flawless. Rescue the girl, don't get killed in the process. It was a nice stretch from recent Resident Evil games, especially playing against some smarter zombies. Cutscenes kept you on your toes so Leon wouldn't get chopped into tiny pieces or pulled into the bottom of a lake.

GAMEPLAY 10/10

Fighting parasitic zombies? What could be greater than that? The controls are easy to learn, a must for a game that thrusts you into the action pretty fast. Zombies are now replaced with the inhabitants of a European country that have been infected with a parasite, making them MUCH smarter. I once climbed into a belltower and almost died because of molotov cocktails that they had tossed up. Many of the games features are realistic, like the shaking of Leon's gun when he aims, or his heavy breathing when you make him run too long.

REPLAYABILITY 9/10

There are many secrets to unlock after you beat the game, especially in the PS2 version. Some of them include all new costumes, guns, and playable characters for mini games. The only reason I dock it one point is that it's not exactly a RPG, where there are levels to gain and such. Other than that, I'd give it a 10.

OVERALL 10/10

This game is a must buy for any Gamecube owner.

The best shooter game and very addictive

I usually don't write reviews, but this game deserve a three thumbs up for its exciting, addictive and easy to learn game play and controls. I've played halo 1, doom, ect.. and this still beats thems all. I've played through the game once and it took over 40 hours to complete. After I completed the game I thought it was over, but another number of mini games opened up providing the player a variety of players and weapons. Then you have the option to play the game again, but with a different attire and unlimited amounts of weapons. I'm still playing the mini games which last anywhere from a few hours to a few minutes. The game keeps you interested throughout every scene. Its a gamecube keeper on my self along with Mario Kart 2.
