Fun, but too easy
Well, I like this game, just as I have always enjoyed the Zelda games. The graphics are especially nice this time, and very cute. However, this game was a bit easier and shorter than the others, as if the designers had put more effort into the graphics at the detriment of the overall game. Despite this, though, it is still fun and cute and has an interesting storyline, so it's worth it.
HELP!!!!
Hi. I'm a 11 year old girl. But wait.... don't judge me by that. I LOVE all Zelda games and I'm fairly good at them ( sometimes i need a little help from my brother) . I havn't got this game yet. I'm trying to decide. Is it good? How hard are the bosses? Do you still go to Hyrule? I know Gannondorf is history in this game but what's up with the new evil guy? I saw there was only one other kid review. Is this an adult game?
The Minish Cap...a decent Zelda game, but could've been better
Hello, Silent Bob here, reviewing another game from the wonderful world of Nintendo. Today, it's The Minish Cap, the most recent game in the Legend of Zelda series (or is it Four Swords Adventures? I don't know). Now I love Zelda, and this game is no exception, but it is missing a few things that could've made this a five-star game. It's a good game the first time through, but then you'll want to put it away for a while and play it later. Still, I'm glad I own it, as I am with most of my video games.
Here's the story: An evil sorcerer by the name of Vaati (what a *cool* character!) has cursed Princess Zelda to stone, and you, once again as the little boy hero, must break the curse and put him down. A pretty simple story, and suitable for a Zelda GBA game. As you travel in your quest to revive the mystic Picori (Minish) Blade, you'll collect new and old items like the Gust Jar, which acts like a vacuum, and the Cane of Pacci, which flips things over. Cool items, they are, but I don't like them as much as the classic items, such as the bow and bombs. I was impressed with the graphics. Very much like A Link to the Past, but much better. Good job, Capcom! (That's right. Capcom. They helped in the production of this game.)
Gameplay is pretty straightforward. You play as Link, slashing up the bad guys and solving puzzles. And when I say puzzles, I mean daunting ones. The dungeons in this game really make you think, which is what I like best in a Zelda game. It's a good break from the action-packed-natured games like Metroid: Zero Mission, which I may review some other time. The bosses are tough the first time around, but if you can figure out their patterns, you might emerge victorious. Just the way I like it...bosses that aren't so tough that it's frustrating. The new thing here is that with a cool cap called the Minish Cap, you can shrink to the size of the Minish race, explore areas you couldn't when you were big, and even attack enemies from the inside!
Replayability? Well, that's where The Minish Cap falls a bit. After you beat it, you might want to put it away, as there's not much to do afterwards, unless you want to collect the figurines and Heart Pieces (most of which you'll probably pick up on your main quest). But it *is* a fun game, and I would reccommend it to Zelda veterans or Zelda newbies.
Overall, the Minish Cap is probably the weakest of the Zelda games, but it still stands as a good game to play. Or maybe it's just that I'm losing interest in video games myself...
