love it
I love the keyboard. I even took it to class with my PDA and took notes on it. It works great.
Fantastic for Treo 600 but beware of hardware connect problems
Just to qualify my statements, I did receive the keyboard today. With that being said, I must give high praise to palmOne for building a terrific piece of hardware for my Treo 600 smartphone. Its design is pure genius, easy and compact. Thank you palmOne for integrating the shell. It looks like a cool looking cigar case.
One recent problem was when the keyboard wouldn't work after I interrupted a hot sync. I immediately went back and did a full proper hot sync which made the keyboard happy again. There was no need to soft reset my unit. Either way, I'm extremely pleased with my keyboard. It works flawlessly with my Treo 600.
Two nagging things are the placement of the '?' and the right space bar. They're both something getting use to.

Supplementary
So a month afterwards, the keyboard intermittently stopped working and thought it was because of the my Treo600. So I tried to soft reset the thing thinking that would do it but did not. After a night of eliminating all possibilities, it turns out to be the keyboard itself... hardware-wise. This keyboard slides along a metal conductor to maintain internal connectivity and full keyboard funtionality. Unfortunately, an overlooked engineering design has the internal parts lose connection if slight misaligned. This usually happens if I slide the keyboard right the its end. So, I make sure not to slide it out fully by pushing it back in by a millimetre and then all is well.
Hopefully, this will help you all with performance and reliability issues.
Since I realised this, I've had a fully reliable keyboard without compromising any performance. Ultimately, this is still a great keyboard and I thank Palm for it. If Palm resolves this design or maufacturing issue, they will have the best non-optical keyboard in the world.
Best Keyboard I've Bought
I read the complaints about this product, and frankly I was worried. When it arrived, however, I found it to be the best keyboard I have bought. I should note that I have a T5, not a T3, which people have had trouble with. Also, I have noticed that when the keyboard is activated on the handheld, I sometimes bet buggy behavior from the Palm, but I have noticed that it only happens in the computer lab where I teach. The school recently put in all new "power saving" flourescent lights that seem to drive the IR port nuts, but that's not Palm's fault. I blame the annoying, expensive lights! Everywhere else, the keyboard works flawlessly. The design is solid, sturdy, and easy to use. Most impressively, however, there is no lag between keystroke and entry. I have never had a PDA keyboard that performed so quickly! I had just learned to accept the fact that I would have to type slowly, and go back every 10 keystrokes or so to fix the missing letter. Not with this little wonder! Typing is flawless! I cannot say enough good about this keyboard. If you have a T5, don't waste your money on one of the cheaper models. Go for this one!
