Junk, pure junk!
BT250 and this newer BT250v are pure junk. The sound quality on these two units are horrid, there are no other ways to describe it. My friends and coworkers can identify these units remotely and asked that I do not speak to them using the BT250 or BT250v. The microphone is sooooo sensitive and un-tuned, it is particularly unusable in cars or while walking. The road noise or wind noise will over saturate your voice. Even under ideal quiet surrounding, normal speech will come out muddy and weak. The battery life also shortens significantly during the 1 year warranty with moderate use. The button on this unit doesn't help with usability. With the earhook design, one would push the button in the direction perpendicular into the ear to activate the button, a task easily done with one finger and no pain. However, this unit uses the behind the ear design, where you would have to use two fingers with a motion to pinch your earlobe to activate the button, it's truly an unpleasant experience. In addition, the vibrate alert feature is just stupid and useless. In most cases, one would be wearing this unit, so the audible ringing can be heard--why would you need it to vibrate???
I truly advise against buying this unit.
Great if you have gigantic ears!
I wish I had never purchased this headset. Yes, the sound is good if you can manage to get it to stay on your ear. It's stupid design makes it hard for people with small ears to use at all. It is awkward to get it on and it doesn't want to stay on. I've lost tons of ear gels off of it also.
Great sound but...
This is the first Bluetooth device that I purchased.
As other reviewers have mentioned, the sound is great. I hear well and those that I am talking to hear me quite well. I have not had any complaints about hearing background noise through the microphone.
On the negative side, the following are my particular problems:
1) It is difficult to get on the ear. I invariably wind up having the phone try to make a call as I try to put it on. Have just learned to hang up.
2) I have small ears and the darned thing keeps slipping off my ear. The only thing that prevents it from falling off altogether is the gel I use ( I use an extra long one that goes well into my ear).
3) The vibrate function can lock on if you do not answer the call correctly. The first time it happened to me, I didn't press the button when a call was coming in, I was actually pressing buttons on the phone. This happened on the way to work and the vibration wouldn't stop until the battery went dead (even when the thing was off) (the vibes went on for about 5-6 hours)(battery life is good, I guess). The only other way to make it stop is to put it into the charging cradle. I have found out that I have to be very careful when the phone rings because of this problem.
Because of the $ invested and the quality of the sound, I would keep using the thing if it didn't keep falling off. I have learned to take extra care to insert it into my ear or I just hang up the attempted call-out. But having to make sure that it is on (the set is so light that often you aren't aware that it is on) is too annoying for me.
