NOT A CONSISTANT PERFORMER/VERY DISSAPOINTED

Yes I have read the white paper by Katz and any camera that needs that much explanation is already on the path to perdition.
First lets look at what I use daily and how they stack up to this so-called wonder.
I have an olympus c-740,765 and a canon A520 but my joy is the Panasonic z20.
In comparison to all these cameras you must have a degree from MIT to get any consistant results. Now I am beginning To think that perhaps I have a lemon. So many "frenchmen" can't be wrong but I have shot now for three days in all lighting conditions and I find very poor results.
1. zoom is not a true 12x it is closer to a 10x
2. steady shot ..ain't or at least not very often. It does work in bright light conditions but nature is not always sunny.
3. You must inordinately refer to the manual settings to get any really good pictures as the default settings are garbage.
5. the whole cameras setup is convoluted and indirect and wastes a serious picture takers time barring of course the intailed and generous education needed by reading the white paper produced by Katz.
6. This puppy is slower than congress to get things done. I would rather go without the vaunted steady shot and go with a tripod and even then the focusing is really off and inconsistant. Again I am wondering if I have a defective camera as the electronics on this puppy are erratic.
7. As other photographers with more total experience have noted this camera is not up to its own specs and it shows in the high learning curve and the questionably bad photos. Again I wonder what camera all the 5 star people have. It is certainly not the one I have.
8. The overall design is clumsy to me. There is not enough to hold on the barrel side to steady the camera and as someone who has been doing this for a long time I like to be the one who ultimately steadies the darn thing.
9. My conclusion is that there are inconsistancies in manufacturing and I have a lemon or those who have never used the panasonic z20 are being treated to its third rate imposter.

This camera is a great dissapointemnt and it is going right back.

Sony H1 User

Have used the H1 for over one month now. Have not been unhappy with the pictures it takes. I owned and used previously a sony 717. The H1 pictures are more true in color especially the red's. The zoom is very good, one big advantage over the 717. I thought the double AA batteries would be a problem, but that has not been the story as long as you have a couple spare ones with you. Have not taken many pictures requiring a flash, so can not compare it with the 717. Would highly recommend this camera to someone interesting in buying a digital camera.

My camera rocks

I like this camera because its easy to use and it shoots beautiful pictures. I would tell anyone to buy one, their great!
