Customer Reviews

Never buy anything Samsung!

I bought one of these and within a few months, had problems. Well after calling customer care, they told me they would send out a new one and then pay to return the old one. Well, this didn't happen. They want me to pay the return shipping now (wouldnt have returned it in the first place if they would have told me this) and will not admit it was their fault. Tried to get the information to make a complaint to the company, and the supervisor gives me a bogus number. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING SAMSUNG AGAIN!!!

GREAT BANG FOR BUCK

I spent a good part of two months researching every LCD TV and its cousin on the market. IMHO, Sony's Bravia line is still the daddy in terms of color vividness, but barring that Samsung is right up there among the best you are going to find.

It looks nifty, has a unique design of speakers tapering inward into a V-like cleft, and is pegged at a juicy price point. I am not one to fall for all the "D-Nile" jazz Samsung keeps harping on about but the clarity is fantastic especially from a distance.

Most Samsung televisions do have an irking bug though -- after some use, their remotes tend to become stubborn. There's a trick if/when that does happen: switch TV off, remove batteries from remote, leave everything off for no less than 10 minutes, restart, and things should be back to normal.

I recommend hopping on to Samsung's site and making sure you're getting their latest model in a given size+series format. There is already an "M" series for this "R" model for instance, which has a micro-minor improvement of a 12ms response time instead of 8ms. Not that that makes as discernible a difference to human eyes as it does to human wallets, but well, we take whatever we can get.

Just brought it home yesterday -- love it

Just brought this bad boy home yesterday from an old fashioned "brick and mortar" retailer who was running an amazing sale. Since I set it up about 24 hours ago, I have not been able to take my eyes off of this television. It's that amazing. My wife let out an audible gasp when we turned on high def last night. It looks great, the sound quality is superb, I have no complains. I shopped around, and debated between this model and the equivalent models from Sony and Sharp. I chose the Samsung based on reviews I read here and at CNet. This TV is the real deal, and a great value. You will not be disappointed.
