| Product Description A fun, practical way to stay in contact during long hikes or ski trips, this pair of Motorola two-way radios keeps you connected from up to eight miles away (based on terrain and conditions). The wide-ranging signal also lets you keep tabs on the kids while at a theme park or playground, or give your down-river pal a quick head's up on where the fish are biting. Each radio comes equipped with 22 channels--including eight GMRS (General Mobile Radio Service), seven FRS (Family Radio Service), and seven GMRS/FRS combo channels--giving users plenty of frequencies on which to communicate. To ensure that your conversation is always between you and your mates, Motorola also included 121 privacy codes, which, when added to the 22 channels, gives you 2,662 options for exclusivity. The Priority Scan function lends a hand by searching for the most private channels in crowded environments, as does the Quiet Talk feature, which filters the signals from other radios to ensure an interruption-free conversation. |

Work excellent!! On our 65 acre ranch, to communicate we use these regularly,to keep track of all the animals, etc... they stay charged all day, no problem, they have clear reception, and are very easy to figure out how to use, (even my 6 year old knows everything about them!)distance so far, we have only gone about 1 mile or maybe 2 miles, and all is well. Im sure they can handle farther,,
Works great Used the FV500R on a 1000 mile journey through Wyoming and mostly around Yellowstone between 2 cars travelling together.
While on 1/2 watt power, radio had great reception between the 2 travelling cars. Worked fine when there were 2-3 bends in the road with trees blocking the other radio. Only stopped working when there were 4-5 large bends blocking transmission (didnt try increasing to 1 watt power for that temporary time).
Easy to use, recharged batteries lasted about 12+hrs on one charge.
Radio only had problems in a town when there were 3 right-angle bends with buildings blocking radios. Reception was then intermittent.
Highly recommended.
