Great Monitor
I have owned the previous version of this monitor, the 213T, for about 6 months and was completely happy with it. The only problem was the refresh rate was a bit slow (I think at around 16ms). But it wasn't so much of a problem since I didn't watch much video or play games on it. Otherwise the color and viewing angles were fine.
For my other computer's monitor I had a Viewsonic 20 inch LCD, which I purchased because I needed a fast refresh so I can play games. I never liked this monitor though, it always had problems recognizing it's connection to my pc and the color and viewing angles were not very good either. Plus it had a weird viewing quality to it, like I was looking through a screen door or something.
So when I saw that Samsung had updated the 213T into the 214T with a fast refresh of something like 6ms, I decided to replace the Viewsonic. I'm so happy I did! The 214T is a bigger and far superior monitor than the Viewsonic, and a definite improvement on even the 213T. Great color and quality, no ghosting while playing games or watching video, and really wide viewing angle.
A Great LCD Monitor for Gaming!
I've always been a CRT user, thinking that no LCD monitor could give the brightness and clearity that CRT monitors offered, till I took the plung and bought the Samsung 214t, with 21.3 inches of veiwing area and I'm really blown away by this product. From the ease of just taking it out of the box and plugging it in and having it start working with no install problems, to haveing it automaticaly adjusting to the correct resolution for either normal surfing, to flying with the Microsoft Flight Combat Simulator 3, this monitor is everything I wanted and then some. It is very bright and clear and you notice the size of the display right away, not to mention all the desk top area you get back with this monitor's slim size and easy to use and adjust stand, not to repeat myself, it really is plug and play! The price is well worth it compared to monitors that are smaller and don't offer the 900:1 contrast this model does. If yu're just moving up or making the change over from CRT to LCD as I did, this is the one to pluck down your hard earned money for. Buy it, you won't be sorry.
